Goodbye Godspell!

The last few months have been full of hard work, giggles and of course a good measure of singing and dancing! PWOS came together under the fantastic guidance and direction of Marilyn Gebbett to produce one of our most fun shows ever, GODSPELL!

Now that the final curtain is down, and the cast are just getting over the high of each performance it’s a good time to reflect on what has been an amazing show for the society. With professional performers Gari Glaysher and David Ball starring as Jesus and Judas, the cast were inspired to throw themselves into character. Whether that be as the seductive Sonia or a giddy Gilmer, the disciples, company and of course our children’s chorus were full of energy and excitement that infected the audiences!

Godspell was the first time PWOS has performed at Babington House School in Chislehurst. Whilst we knew their facilities would be excellent we didn’t anticipate just how well the venue would suit our show! After three performances at Babington, the efficient stage crew moved the set to Sevenoaks, for two performances at The Stag Theatre. The pressure was on, and the transition proved successful as audiences at our matinee and evening performances on Saturday 21st June were just as enthusiastic about the show as those at Babington.

A huge thank you to the audiences that came along to support the society, we’d love to hear what you thought of the show! Congratulations to our cast, crew, band and everyone involved in Godspell! We hope to see you all, whether as cast, production or audience, at our next show Iolanthe! Email pwosdigital@gmail.com for information!
