The society is simultaneously excited to be officially now performing from 12 – 13 January 2018 at the Rose Theatre, Rose Bruford Sidcup. Fing’s Ain’t Wot They Used T’Be is a tale of a group of cockney low-lifes in the 1950s. A mixture of gamblers, teddy boys and prostitutes they spend their time at the establishment of gangster Fred (Gari Glaysher), and his long suffering partner, Lil (Elizabeth O’Donnell), who is desperate for them to finally get married. As Fred and the gang seem constantly down on their luck, they struggle to survive as everything around them goes ‘contemporary’ but will they make some changes in their lives and thrive in the East End once again?
Featuring the music of Lionel Bart (Oliver!, Blitz!) and written by Frank Norman (Bang To Rights!), Fing’s Ain’t Wot They Used T’Be is the quintessential musical snapshot of the underground world of 1950s London. The original production was directed by the now iconic Joan Littlewood and starred Dame Barbara Windsor.
We’re so excited to begin rehearsals for our next production, Fings Ain’t Wot They Used T’Be which we are performing from 12 – 13 January 2018 at The Rose Theatre, Rose Bruford, Sidcup!
We would love you to join us on stage for this brilliant Lionel Bart musical based in the 1950s East End. The original cast, featuring Dame Barbara Windsor was directed by the iconic Joan Littlewood and won the 1960 Evening Standard Award for Best Musical!

Show week is finally here and we open at The Stag Theatre, Sevenoaks TONIGHT, Thursday 11 May! Make sure you’ve got your tickets for Betty Blue Eyes, a hilarious musical from Stiles & Drewe (Half A Sixpence, Honk!) based on Alan Bennett’s ‘A Private Function’.
It’s 1947 and belts are being tightened across Britain as the long-suffering citizens are promised fair shares for all. Amid rationing and a freezing cold winter there is a new arrival in town – Betty, an adorable blue eyed pig, who is being illegally reared to ensure the local dignitaries can celebrate the Royal Wedding with a lavish banquet. However, the rest of the community has other ideas for Betty’s fate and hilarity ensues!
It’s now May and we are officially on the final countdown before show week starts! It’s just 10 days until our first performance of Betty Blue Eyes at The Stag Theatre, Sevenoaks!
Today we performed at the Petts Wood May Fayre, to give the local community a taste of what we’ve been up to, and to show them just how much we love the fantastic Stiles & Drewe music of Betty Blue Eyes.
